Getting Started

5 minutes read

It's super easy to get started with the notification widget creation for your website following our carefully selected and illustrated words. However, we have prepared this guide for your reference. Start by creating your account in 15 seconds. You'll need an email and your lovely password. In this article, we will guide you in setting up your first campaign and notification widgets and getting them running on your website. You can create different notification widgets for your site ranging from recent purchases, sign-ups, reviews, to mention a few. To notify your website visitors, as soon as those events happen. You are, therefore, turning your website into a busy place that compels buying action or conversion. We can't wait to see your conversion rate, leads generation, and business growth go off through the roof.

Campaign Dashboard

When you register or log in, you will be redirected to the NotifyMORE campaign dashboard to create your campaigns and see the list of your created campaigns. A campaign is typically created for each website or domain, where you want your notifications to run. Attached below is what our dashboard currently looks like (we continually work on this website to improve user experience).

Notification Dashboard

The notification dashboard looks similar to the campaign dashboard concerning design. However, here you have the list of the notifications you have created, and you can also click on the button to the right-hand side to create a new notification widget. The extreme right-hand side of each notification that you have created is the three-dot, which pops up a menu for editing the notification widget and has other buttons.

Campaign Creation

As mentioned earlier, after you sign up, you will be redirected to the dashboard to create campaigns. To get started with campaign creation, click on the Create Campaign button (the green button). A new window will pop up, as shown below. Add your campaign name, the name of the website, where all notifications on the campaign will run. Toggle the button to choose whether to display the notification widget on all subdomains of the site you have entered.

After entering all the details, click on the create button. Another window popup will supply you with a unique code snippet. Copy your unique generated NotifyMORE code snippet and paste it before the closing of the 'head-tag' of your website, as shown below (we are always happy to help with this if need be).

Notification Creation

To create your notification for a particular website, click on the campaign name for that website, and then click on the 'create notification' button within the notification dashboard. You will be redirected to the notification creation page, as shown below. Enter the notification name and select the notification type. Then, click on the create button at the bottom of the page. You will be redirected to the page where you can customize your notification to suit your desire goal.

Editing Notification

You are done creating your first notification; it's time to program it and style it just the way you will love it to appear on your website. The first tab on the notification editing page is where you enter the necessary information for the notification. For instance, if you are making a notification that will tell all your website visitors about people who sign up/register for something on your site, you can enter something like this "{name} from {country}" in the conversion title. That means that you are using dynamic data for that field. In which case, you have to import data that the notification will be spinning out or turn on the auto-capture feature in the data tab (picture further down, below). Alternatively, you can set up a webhook that captures data from the page that you intend to get those values ('name' and 'country'). We are currently helping our users to set up the webhook at no additional cost. However, if the steps mentioned here are well followed, anyone should be able to set up the webhook.

Editing Notification (continues)

As mentioned above, there are many things you can achieve with different notifications, but the way you set them up is pretty similar. Once done, setting up the necessary information, the next thing is to set up the trigger. That is where you set up the event and timing to trigger your notification to show up to your website visitors and how often they show. You can also choose where you want the notification widget to show up, whether you want your notification widget to show on desktop only or both desktop and mobile phones and how long they show up for when they show up.

Another important thing is the display setup and customization. You can set up how long they show up for when they show up. Besides, you can choose the location on your website where they will show up. You can elect to have the close button on it or not. Having the close button on the notification gives your users the option to close it when it pops up. The ball is in your court. Moreso, you can choose to have our brand name removed and even replace it with your branding. However, you would need the enterprise plan to be able to use that functionality.

You can customize each notification you create however you want. Again, note that each notification widget has its peculiarity feature even though they all have similar setup steps. You can take time to explore each notification to determine which one you need to set up at any point in time. However, if you still have any questions about setting up the notification widget on your website, please send an email to - we are here to help!
